It is strictly forbidden to put cold steel ingot (billet) in the heated open die forging. Forbidden to ingot and the actual temperature is lower than 0 ℃ steel ingot (billet) directly heating furnace. When the qualified hot ingot is shipped to the production workshop of the Open Die Forgings, the cold wind should be avoided and the furnace shall be installed in a timely manner.

Reducing friction not only saves energy, but also improves die life. Because the deformation is more uniform, it is helpful to improve the organization performance of the product of open die forging, and one of the important measures to reduce friction is to use lubrication. Because of the forging process of Open Die Forgings and the difference of working temperature, the lubricants are different. Glass lubricant is used in high temperature alloy and titanium alloy forging. For hot forging of steel, water-based graphite is widely used as lubricant. For cold forging, due to high pressure, it is necessary to process phosphate or oxalate.

The choice of cutting fluid and cooling mode is very important in machining stainless steel open die Open Die Forgings. Due to the poor cutting process of the stainless steel die forging, there are higher requirements for cooling, lubrication, penetration and cleaning performance of the cutting fluid, and the cutting fluid used in the die forging plant has the following categories:

1. Sulfide oil: cutting oil with sulfur as an extreme pressure additive. Can in the cutting process to form high melting point sulfide on the surface of the stainless steel open die forging, and at high temperatures is not easy to damage, good lubrication, and the stainless steel open die forgings has certain cooling effect, suitable for general turning, drilling, reaming and tapping hole. It is suitable for drilling, expanding and reaming. The formula of direct sulfide oil is: 98% of mineral oil and 2% sulphur. The formula of indirect sulfide oil is: 78% ~ 80% of mineral oil, 18% - 20% for vegetable oil or lard, and 1.7% for sulphur.

2. Oil of oil, spindle oil and other mineral oils: it has good lubrication performance, but poor cooling and permeability, which is suitable for the outside round fine car of Open Die Forgings.

3. Vegetable oil: such as vegetable oil, soybean oil, etc., it has a good lubrication performance, which is applicable to the machining processes such as threading and reaming and tapping

4. Emulsion: good cooling and cleaning performance. It is also commonly used in open die Open Die Forgings, which can be used to process stainless steel open die Open Die Forgings.
